2010 - 2012 Board Members...
PRESIDENT

Kathy Molinet, ARNP
Katherine (Kathy) Molinet is an ARNP and works in a private medical practice in
Fort Lauderdale. She is also an Adjunct Faculty member for the Florida
Atlantic University Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing. She has been a
registered nurse for many years, graduating from Broward Community
College School of Nursing.
Kathy worked at Broward General Medical Center as a medical-surgical
nurse after graduation. She then worked with her husband Dr. Roland
Molinet in their Internal Medicine practice for thirty years until he
retired in 2006. She most recently has started her teaching career for
the University as well as continuing her office practice as a nurse
practitioner.
Kathy has been a very active figure in the Broward County community. She
has served as State President of the Florida Medical Association
Alliance, an organization which promotes public health and patient
advocacy. Kathy is committed to increasing public awareness of the
importance of public health issues such as health care access, quality
of health care delivery, and the preservation of patient’s rights. She
has also served as President of Hospice Hundred, SPARK for the Museum of
Discovery and Science, and the Broward County Medical Association. She
is also an Elder and has served as a Trustee of the First Presbyterian
Church of Fort Lauderdale. Kathy is an avid volunteer and is serving on
the boards of the American Lung Association, Royal Dames of Cancer
Research, and Broward County Medical Association Alliance. She is
currently focusing her efforts on behalf of the Florida Atlantic
University National Alumni Association where she is serving on the
Government Relations Committee. She is also active with the Broward
Roundtable of the Alumni Association.
Kathy has a Bachelor Degree is Health Services Administration with
Honors and a Master Degree in Science, both from Florida Atlantic
University. She is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner.
VICE-PRESIDENT & WAYS & MEANS CHAIR

Melanie Egan, ARNP
Melanie has been a nurse for the past 17 years. She graduated in1994
from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan with her BSN and obtained
her MSN in 2003 from Florida International University. She currently
works as an ARNP for the Cardio-Vascular Institute at Memorial Regional
Hospital. Melanie worked with a Hospitalist program and during her
tenure expanded her role in administration for the Medicaid Hospitalist
Pilot Program in Miami-Dade and West Palm Beach. She collaborated and
developed the pilot program, which included in-servicing, monitoring
multidisciplinary teams and marketing the program to the hospital's
administrative teams.
Melanie has mentored many student Nurse Practitioners and is a big
proponent of bedside teaching with patients and their families. She has
been an active member of the SFCAPN, since being a student herself.
Melanie is a strong advocate for both Nurse Practitioners and patients.
She believes one of the best ways of demonstrating this is through the
power of education.
TREASURER

Cheryl Greenberg, ARNP
Cheryl graduated from the University of Florida in
1988 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and from Florida
International University in 1996 with her Masters of Science in Nursing.
She worked as a staff nurse at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood
for 10 years in Surgical/Trauma ICU, Neuro ICU, and Open Heart. She was
Co-director of a Congestive Heart Failure Program within a large
cardiology group where she practiced both general and preventative
cardiology. She is currently working with Braver and Braver P.A. as an
internal med/pulmonary NP. Cheryl has been a member of the SFCAPN for 15
years and has held various board positions. She is currently the
Treasurer. She has mentored several NP students and enjoys spending time
with her patients and their families.
SECRETARY

Pinky Chance, ARNP
Founding Member of the SFCAPN and continues
to serve as Board Member and Secretary. Pinky graduated from the
University of the Philippines with a BS Pre-Med and Graduate Nurse
Degree in 1975. She completed her MSN in Family Nurse Practice at Barry
University in 1992, PhD in Health Administration at Kennedy Western
University in 1999, and and a Jurist Doctoral Degree in December 2005 from
Concord University School of Law. Recent awards include a Distinguished
Scholar List at Concord School of Law in 2003 and 2004 and award
of Academic Excellence in in 2005. In
addition, Pinky received an Award of Excellence
in Clinical Research given by the Philippine Nurses' Association of
America on July 10, 2004 in Hawaii.
Pinky has won clinical research grant awards as a primary investigator
and author of "Pharmacologic Treatment of Depression in Cancer Patients
in Primary Care" for Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic
Medicine in 2001,and "Non-hormonal Alternatives for the Control of Hot
Flashes in Postmenopausal Women on Raloxifene Therapy" for Eli Lilly in
2002. She is presently a principal investigator for numerous clinical
research studies.
Pinky is an appointed member of the Expert Panel Committee of the
American Nurses Credentialing Committee, has been the chairperson of the
Educational Committee of the Philippine Nurses' Association of South
Florida since 1992 and is a member of the Research Committee of FIU School
of Nursing.
NOMINATING COMMITTEE CHAIR

Terry Focaracci, ARNP
Terry graduated from the University of Florida in
1976 with a BS in Psychology and continued her education at the
University of Miami where she graduated in 1986 with a BSN and in 1990
with her MSN, ARNP. She is Board Certified in Family Practice.
Terry has practiced for the last 22 years in a
Nephrology in West Broward, Coral Springs and Boca Raton. She manages
adult internal medicine patients, renal disease, transplants and all
phases of dialysis. Currently she is Director of Clinical Research at
the same practice where she handles all aspects of clinical research.
Terry is one of the founding members of the SFCAPN and has held various Board positions
through-out the years. Currently she is Chair of the Nominating and
Education Committee.

Robin Petit, ARNP
Robin graduated from Broward Community College in
1980 with her Associate degree in Nursing. She subsequently graduated
from Florida Atlantic University in 1988 with her BSN/BHA, in 1996 with
her MSN and in 2000 completed a post-graduate certification program for
her ARNP. She has worked with children and adults in a
Family Practice clinic. Robin currently is employed as the
Coordinator for Clinical Education at Broward Health d/b/a North Broward
Hospital District. Robin has been an active member of the South Florida
Council of Advance Practice Nurses since 2001 holding positions as
member of the Nominating and Education Committee member, 1st
Vice President , President and currently the Special Events/Education

SPECIAL EVENTS/EDUCATION COMMITTEE

Rosemary Davenport, ARNP
Rosemary graeduated from St. Louis University with her BSN in 1979 and
from Seton Hall University with her MSN/ARNP in 1986. She is currently
an ARNP with East Coast Medical Associates, Inc., working as a Certified
Research Coordinator specializing in Endocrinology.
She was a preceptor for nurse practitioner students (Barry University,
FIU and UM) from 1990 to 2005; course director/intructor for the
American Heart Association (American Embassy-Nassau, Bahamas/Veterans
Administration Medical Center - Miami, FL from 1990-2007. Rosemary has
received numerous honors and awards from the Veterans Administration
Medical Center during employment from 1982 to 1993.
